An update to you, our guests and future guests, about the impact of COVID19 and what we are doing to help you
We are excited to announce that Fiji’s borders will reopen on the 1st December 2021. With borders reopening, we want you to know that your bookings are safe should anything change, and that we are committed to supporting you in the best way that we can.
If we are holding a credit for your postponed or cancelled charter, or if you are looking at booking a charter with us in the future, the following information is designed to help you book or re-book a charter when it suits you.

We understand that sometimes plans change, especially since the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic. That’s why, when you book with Big Blue Fiji, you have complete flexibility to change your travel plans to suit you, all whilst knowing your deposit is safe and secured. As long as you notify us about changes to your travel plans at least 30 days before your charter, you can pick new travel dates with no change fees.
If you cancel your trip up to 60 days before departure, you can transfer your deposit to another available date or securely hold your payment against your booking, so you can re-book to a time when you can make it out to paradise. If you chose to cancel completely, your 30% deposit will not be refunded but will be placed on credit for you. Please see our full Booking Terms & Conditions by clicking here for further details.
Secure your charters with a 30% non-refundable deposit. You then have the option to pay the rest in full or in instalments whenever you like, with no interest and no added fees. Just make sure you've paid in full, 60 days before your charter is due to depart.
No change fees
If you do decide to change your plans, whether it be the type of charter, the activities on board, or the dates you want to travel, let us know at least 60 days prior to departure and there will be no fees to change you trip.
If you were booked on a trip that we had to postpone or you had to cancel due to the pandemic, you will automatically receive a 100% credit (of your deposit or full payment). This means you can rebook to new dates once borders restrictions have been lifted.
My charter has been postponed or I have cancelled. What happens to my booking now?
If you were booked on a charter that we have had to postponed, or if you cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, you will automatically have 100% of monies paid (deposit or full payment) placed on credit for you. Simply contact us when you are ready to re-book, and we will schedule you in to our available dates. We want to provide you with as much flexibility as we can so that you have plenty of time to plan and re-book your future charter with us. You do not need to contact us to confirm your credit as it has been automatically applied to your charter booking.
Why am I being asked to take a credit?
By accepting the credit, you will help us employ a number of awesome people on the ground here in Fiji. It will also enable us to offer you the best service possible and amazing charters once the world opens up again. By accepting the travel credit and keeping your trust in us, you’re helping to create the kind of world travel you want to see when the worst of this coronavirus epidemic has passed.
When do I need to use my credit by?
All credit held against your booking for postponed or cancelled trips due to COVID19 will be secured to your booking until 31.12.2023.
I don’t think I will be able to use my credit, can I transfer it to someone else?
Yes absolutely. On compassionate grounds, for example if you are elderly, sick, or have experienced financial hardship, we are more than happy for you to transfer your credit to a friend or family member. Please contact us to discuss your situation if you wish to explore this more.
What if there is another outbreak and you cancel future trips?
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew remains our top priority. Therefor, we will only providing charters to overseas guests once this can be done in a safe way. Our booking terms and conditions are designed to give our guests the maximum flexibility, meaning your booking will be secure until it is safe to travel again. We are constantly monitoring the Fiji Government, Tourism Fiji, and World Health Organisation advice. This means we will aim to provide our guests with as much notice as possible about any changes to the Fiji border restrictions.
